PetConnect Rescue is hosting its second annual Race to the Rescue - 5k and Fun Run in Purcellville, VA on May 19th. Volunteers are needed to support a variety of roles before, during, and after the race to ensure a fun and smooth day. To view all of our volunteer needs for the Race to the Rescue, click here.
On the day of the race, PCR is in need of a few volunteers to support the day’s activities by greeting incoming event volunteers, leading certain stations, and being flexible in where they serve throughout the day of the race. These volunteers will be onsite from the beginning of race-day set up until everything is cleaned up and put away.
On Race Day, PCR is in need of volunteers to arrive early to the park to set up for the race. Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift 25 pounds unassisted to unload, move, and arrange the necessary tables, signage, and other equipment needed for the day’s activities. You may be tasked with setting up the start/finish line, planting signs along the race path.
Shift Specifics
Volunteers should dress comfortably in closed-toe shoes and athletic attire. The race takes place in a large field, so please be prepared for mud if it rains the day before/day of. Parking is available in the lot near the pool - the race’s start/finish line is to the left when you enter the park across from the pool. Please arrive promptly at 7 am as set-up needs to be completed before the racers begin arriving at 8 am.
