Overview:
The Grants Writer and Researcher will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission by researching funding opportunities, drafting compelling grant proposals, and assisting with grant reporting requirements. As a member of the Fundraising Committee, this volunteer will collaborate closely with other staff and volunteer members to help secure funding for the organization’s programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an active member of the Fundraising Committee, contributing to discussions and strategies related to funding development.
- Research potential funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and priorities.
- Draft clear and persuasive grant applications and proposals.
- Collaborate with staff to refine and edit grant drafts for submission.
- Assist with organizing and fulfilling grant reporting requirements by gathering necessary documentation and maintaining records.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, or grant funding.
- Prior experience with grant writing, communications, and/or fundraising (preferred but not required). - Must be willing to commit to a minimum of one year in the position.
